There are various ways that interested companies or individuals can support Yak Attack events.
FIRSTLY, below are the profiles of a few of the local riders wishing to take part in the event. All those selected are experienced athletes and great ambassadors for mountain biking in Nepal, but many find it hard to raise the funds to take part in a multi-day events such as this one. - A minimum donation of £200 per athlete will ensure that they are able to take part in the race.
- A donation of £400 per athlete will cover their total expenses for the race, including entry fee, transport, food, accommodation and porter fees.
- By sponsoring an athlete either partly or exclusively, you will be giving them the chance to take part in an event that they would not normally be able to afford, and in return we will associate your company name and logo with your sponsored rider, displaying it on their race no. and in race reports.
SECONDLY, for 2011 we will be awarding prize money for each stage (there are 6 stages in all) and we will be offering the opportunity for companies to sponsor a stage of the race. For a donation of £200, the sponsored stage will be named after the associated company, with their name and logo to appear on the START and FINISH banners and in all reports about that stage. THE FOLLOWING STAGES ARE AVAILABLE FOR SPONSORSHIP:
STAGE 1: March 10 - Besi Sahar to Taal 41km, 760m to 1700m 1635m ascent. STAGE 2: March 11 - Taal to Chame 21km, 1700m to 2570m 1365m ascent. STAGE 3: March 12 - Chame to Manang 30km, 2570m to 3540m 1044m ascent. STAGE 4: March 14 - Manang to Thorong Phedi 22km, 3540m to 4450m 980m ascent. STAGE 5: March 15 - Thorong Phedi to Muktinath 18km, 4450m to 5416m - 3750m 960m ascent. STAGE 6: March 16 - Muktinath to Tatopani, 67km, 3750mm to 11190m (Finish).
Details of all the stages can be seen on the itinerary page. FINALLY, if any company(s) would like to donate any equipment or clothing, for use by the participants during the race, we will add their logo to our supporting sponsors list in our website and review the product on our race portal site.
As outlined in detail in Our Aim page, Yak Attack is run as a non profit making event, with any profits made, being used to aid budding Nepali athletes, promote eco-friendly sports tourism in the Annapurna region and to support the local communities through which the race passes.
